Make is the London-based studio of graphic designer Ross Clarke. Specialising in but not limited to, brand identity, art direction and digital design.

Working with agencies and also private clients, I work across a multitude of disciplines, but relish most, the longevity and subtlety of brand identity design.

I once had a creative director say that I was the first designer she'd met who actually read the copy of the advert I was designing, which I was gobsmacked about – how can you possibly design something you don't understand, unless the intention is purely style over substance.

Successful design is not decoration, it's always a form of cummunication, whether it's the nuance of brand values in a logo or the overt selling of a product in an advertisement. As a designer I've always felt that one of the most important parts of the job, is research and thorough understanding, of the client, the client's sector and positioning but also the client's target audience.
